Hitachi ATS-314 cobalt steel, hardened to 61 to 62 HRC and finished with a hand-honed convex edge. That holds a clean, sharp edge far longer than the 440C steel found in many overpriced shears. The convex edge is slide-cut and dry-cut ready.
